Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro daily across both our delivery team and our clients to collaborate on product feature roadmaps, ecommerce strategy, and internal business process . Most useful for mind mapping and making sense of requirements for large implementations before roadmapping it and presenting to our clients. One of our favourite features is the integration with JIRA so we have our tickets live status against a delivery roadmap.

Pros

  • JIRA integration
  • Collaboration e.g. following the presenter
  • Moving content seamlessly across different boards

Cons

  • Integration of spreadsheets e.g. a google spreadsheet only provides a very limited view. Much easier to go into the spread in it's native system at this point
  • Highlighting to a user comments that have them tagged. Especially for larger, more intricate boards with multiple collaborators
  • Easier selection of shapes to add (much like stickers)
  • Improved visibility of our work to our clients
  • Mapping out requirements for complex implementations with clients at early stages of scoping
  • Quick visualisation of ideas and workflows with our team. Pairs well with our startup-like environment
It was easy to rollout to the team quickly and involve external users as guests.

Everyone we deal with are relatively technical so quick and easy to pickup. Intuitive UI.
Great with JIRA and easy to get the integration going. Tough to make use of spreadsheets integration without going to the platform itself e.g. Google Sheets.
We use this nearly daily to collaborate on roadmaps for clients and internal processes.

One of our favourite uses for Miro is Value Stream Mapping (or mapping a buyer journey for ecommerce) from discovery through to receiving orders. Then, thanks to JIRA integration, we map all of our User Stories against each step in the Value Stream and put against a delivery roadmap to share with our clients. Perfect tool for us to collaborate on this both internally with our remote teams as well as our clients (both on and offline).
