Big Fan of Brainstorm Sessions Using Miro
Overall Satisfaction with Miro
Primarily for brainstorming and collaboration sessions. We often use it during our work weeks, where we gather in-person and virtually as a team, to walk through a problem we're facing and then ideate on potential solutions. It also helps visualize and share product areas, especially for internal education / awareness of programs. So often I try to map out things I'm working on, then walk through the Miro board during a presentation - in place of slides.
Pros
- Collaboration
- Ideation
- Visualization
- Brainstorming
Cons
- Onboarding
- Can be hard to follow others, especially when there are several users
- I find it hard to find new edits
- Improved feasibility of projects. Projects tend to get approved when there is a Miro board involved somewhere during the development process.
- There tends to sometimes be a speed bump between Miro board ideation sessions and first steps. But that may be a problem outside of Miro. Basically, I'd like to be able to act quickly upon the ideas that come from a brainstorm session...so maybe there's potential with some integrations into other platforms.
- Improved collaboration and teamwork.
It has helped immensely. We are a remote team, with members across the world / in various time zones. So being able to have an active whiteboard which can be used at different times, is very helpful. I have noticed, however, that the most successful Miro boards are ones created when we're all on a call together.
