Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro in a variety of ways, as a Kanban board, project status board and even when putting together diagrams to name a few use cases. The key business problems that Miro helps us address is two-fold, the need for better document version control and the need for a shared space where people across our organisation are able to access and collaborate on story maps and project status updates.
Pros
- Version control
- Shared space across an organisation that can be accessed by several people at once without performance issues
- Easy to access to boards and sheets
Cons
- Better drawing tools (e.g. better ways of grouping stories on a story map)
- Faster project loading time
- More templates
- Great team productivity boost by providing that real-time shared, collaborative space where you can see when other people are on the same project/sheet as you
- Great all-round efficiency not having to worry about version control any more
- It's a great tool that does exactly what it says "on the box", making it a reliable and worthwhile investment
Mostly the ability for multiple people to access and collaborate on one shared document or project has been the most impactful to my day-to-day. I can't stress enough how effective Miro has been at fixing our version control woes while also offering a broad enough range of features that we can create a variety of different documents.
Yes and no, it would be hard to replace tools such as Confluence, Jira and DevOps but there are definitely some features that Miro does better than those three core products that we utilise. That means we now use Miro as well as those core products as well as other products like Lucidchart as I mentioned. Perhaps a greater emphasis on integration with other tools would be better?
Miro's offering is unique in that it provides an easy-access space to collaborate with good mix of tools and features in order to create things with. All-round performance when using Miro is better in a large project compared to a tool like Jira where navigation and performance is impacted greatly by the size of the project and the number of collaborators.
