Overall Satisfaction with Miro

The digital design chapter uses Miro to implement 'design plans' or customized templates featuring various design thinking and ideation techniques. This approach ensures that customer needs remain central throughout each project, ensuring solutions are relevant, while maintaining a consistent approach to the design process across multiple projects.

Pros

  • Sticky notes
  • Collaboration with other team members
  • Clear and intuitive user interface
  • Sharing boards with others
  • Useful basic drawing tools

Cons

  • Not introducing unnecessary new features just for the sake of appearing to be improving the application.
  • Syncing imported graphics with changes done in their native application - eg a UI updated in Figma is automatically updated in Miro. It can be time consuming manually making these updates.
  • Being able to import a full screenshot of a web page by providing a url.
  • Reduces the expense for third-party wireframing applications.
  • Improves team collaboration and innovation (priceless!)
  • Offers the tools for different ways of thinking and expressing that (other than spreadsheets and Word docs!)
Overall, it's very good. As a user since the Realboard days, I've noticed its complexity has increased, but I still primarily use the same tools, especially stickies. I would strongly advise against any changes or improvements that might compromise sticky usability.
Stickies for note taking.
Basic wireframing and diagramming tools.
Sharing functionality.
Project/file management tools/interface.
Miro hasn't significantly changed how I use other tools and platforms in my org's tech stack. These tools remain relevant because they offer distinct advantages as the design approaches production, such as higher fidelity, access to component libraries, typographic control, interoperability with other systems, and support for responsive design.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro exceeds in facilitating team collaboration and sharing, particularly in visualising the design process to help stakeholders understand the project's current stage. It allows for tracking the development of a design from start to finish, although the clarity and effectiveness depend heavily on the board's author. However, it is less suitable for sharing when the board is cluttered and the owner hasn't considered the perspective of other viewers. This issue reflects the author's approach rather than Miro's capabilities.
