Overall Satisfaction with Miro
Using old style enablement PowerPoints presentations and reconstruct into a Miro Board using frames containing the main themes. I use sticky notes as the flow and cards that hold the explanation details and exercise details, plus images to help with visuals. I then use the boards/frame during an enablement sessions to help others understand the subject and what to do in the exercises.
Pros
- Easy to place and arrange ideas
- copy and paste from PowerPoints
- provides a very large area and allows you to keep on adding more
- easy to select and move objects
- has history and undo
- easy to connect and un-connect flow lines
Cons
- Font size management consistency
- if the feature is beta provide message that undo may not work
- The card object details allow the attributes to be collapse so you can just see the title and details area
- sometimes the right mouse fails to move and does not work refresh restores the issue
- When using in a low Wi-Fi its impossible to use - some kind of cashing may help or offline mode
- This is a bit early to say still exploring my use model
- Many people in my org are already using
- PowerPoint is still a strong competitor as I use more for presentation
- The use model may move to sharing doing my enablement session only time will tell
The ability to layout a linear PowerPoints that are stale and too many slides (70-90) and condense into a more manageable delivery context. From example notes in PowerPoint are really hidden. Using cards I can add notes as details and expand as need on the screen.
PowerPoints where useful in the old style in person information sharing but the are a weak remote learning tool as the audience disengages quickly. There are many features in PowerPoint but most people today do use the features and the Miro board creates a dynamic presentation that will always be different. Note I'm still exploring and waiting on more feedback is the approach better. I have had a number of session with good feedback
That's harder as Miro is a corporate tool so I can use it - I have searched the web but not really tried any others
