Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We regularly create system diagrams using Miro, which we also utilize for brainstorming, defining technical aspects, and sharing with leadership for review. We also use it to create drafts at a personal level in addition to collaborating with internal and other teams.
Pros
- Create high-level diagrams.
- Provides premade templates that can be used off the shelf
- Inbuilt AI features that can help you add simple components without explicitly adding it
- Collaborating with other teams in real-time.
Cons
- Sometimes it gets hung while creating the flow or diagram.
- Some drawing tools can be unintuitive at first and require practice or prolonged use.
- We are a team of 18 members constantly collaborating on the Miro boards as we are in the design stage of a new product, and it has helped us ship designs to directors really quickly.
- We can also view other people's changes or designs for another module in real-time. This is because it allows you to create multiple sheets within a single board, reducing the need to create multiple versions of the same diagram by keeping iterations on the same page.
- It has helped share comments from senior members with the tool itself, which is extremely helpful since we don't waste time writing a long message or doc reviewing the changes.
- The AI features have really helped create simple diagrams, saving a lot of our time.
The AI assist feature is something I have been experimenting with recently. I have also used the sticky notes feature to outline key points in detail and to remind myself of the topics I need to cover during the board meeting. Premade templates make life easier sometimes, and you don't have to repeat standard designs. Also used Integration with Jeera.
Yes, it has definitely reduced our usage of various platforms, such as Docs, Pages, and Teams messages. We now use Miro exclusively for collaboration, rather than relying on individual platforms.
Compared to the others, the platform offers a far more extensive feature set and a sleeker, more professional UI/UX, making it ideal for creating professional-looking diagrams.
