Overall Satisfaction with Miro
Well, I am currently using it to create a visual database of all the projects we are tackling in all the different locations of the site, so anybody can view it and recognize the work that is being put into the plant. Because they usually remain un-seen and people might think that nobody is doing anything for their problems even though the people in charge might be putting tireless hours into solving their problem, making it their priority. I have actually recommended people to use Miro way before I was using it for work. I started to use Miro when it first came out with their Youtube ads. I had a computer building club in high school and I would use Miro as the platform to teach the members of my club how to build a computer. I also had around 8 board members that I had start using Miro for their presentation on their expertise with computers. It quickly evolved into something that we would use in class for English assignments where everybody would create their mind maps on paper while we quickly create them on Miro. We would also sometimes create the mind maps on the same project, so we could see what our friends are writing down and make communication way easier since we could copy and paste it into our mind map that was on the same canvas. I highly recommend it for anything to help you make things more visually understandable and collaborative since you can even see other people's cursors on the canvas
Pros
- The cursors on the screen
- The default templates provided
- How it displays links
- Writing notes
- Price (free version)
- An infinite canvas of opportunities
- Not restricting like other platforms
Cons
- I'm not sure if Miro has this, but if there was a way to intergrade Google Calendar to Miro where you can see it and change it and add things from it to the canvas would be such a cool addition
- Same thing but with your emails
- Maybe a better drawing feature, I think the one from Apple Notes is the most perfectly simplistic one that's good with using a stylus with. Prodraft for example uses the Apple one
- Us being able to see all the projects and how far they are and where they are exactly helped us determine what to focus on without any wasted time on things that people might be working on or might interfere with something already existing
- People won't feel like their problems have been forgotten just because the solution isn't there yet
- It's a nice way to explain a concept in your mind
Mind mapping, how the images are just so perfect and how easily you can move them and being able to display both documents and presentation on the same platform. Another thing that would impact me, but I don't personally use it, is the Slack or Teams integration. I think it's a feature from Miro if I'm not mistaken. Or it might be Trello. I think that if Miro had a feature to use Trello inside of it. That would be a finishing touch.
It's not really in my tech stack, but I do use Miro over pen and pencils. Since you can edit and copy and paste and even have image and links. It's so much better than to just have a pen and pencil.
- Canva, Canvas and Microsoft Teams
Miro has always been my goat. I have been using it since it came out and I don't think I could ever choose any of the other ones. It's so much better to see the other people work simultaneously as you and communicating with them and copy and pasting in and out of each other's works to collaborate is like no other.
