Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro is mostly used as a “centralized” hub for collaboration across teams who need to visualize ideas and work together. It resolves spending too much time on email threads by focusing on brainstorming and mapping out ideas and processes in real time. Stakeholders can post and suggest changes on the board directly, resulting in better decision making and more transparency

Pros

  • It’s a brainstorming powerhouse: we can very efficiently move from ideation to collaboration to execution because everyone can chip in, collaborate and vote, essentially eliminating long convoluted email threads
  • Different kinds of boards and charts can be created so we will always find what we need to map out project plans with details
  • Security: boards can only be accessed by those who have the credentials and the permissions, helping keep vital information secure

Cons

  • It would be great to see integrations with tools like GA4 (like the Looker Stufio), as data constantly needs to be updated manually
  • Seeing a version history would be very helpful as a lot of the times collaborators will make changes that can’t be tracked
  • There should be some kind of functionality to turn templates into slides - during presentations, collaborators tend to scroll around the huge canvas to locate their data, and stakeholders can find that a bit time-wasting
  • Miro has helped a lot of new joiners understand data in a more visual and compelling way. They would not need to go through pages of black and white subtext to get onboarded, but can digest information in a much more understandable way. It reduced training time as information is presented very neatly, which positively impacts team productivity.
  • Instead of using multiple tools (one for PM, another for analytics, another for attachments), costs are alleviated when dependency for multiple platforms are reduced.
  • Because of visibility, leadership can quickly scan and comment on projects. By knowing exactly what needs to be actioned and followed up (by reviewing leadership’s comments on the different charts), a lot of time is saved trying to understand and decipher input from leaders, as it will be clearly visible.
Miro has simplified usability by using icons that are universally recognizable and call to actions that can be located very easily, not to mention a very helpful search feature which can instantly track any board. Even new joiners can create compelling boards with minimal training, which is essential for building skills when creating more complex boards.
It’s always the simple features that create the most impact like sticky notes, fields, callouts, and commenting on data. It’s not always the complex features that deliver impact. The biggest impact, however, is how it reduces all the back and forth emails, calls and meetings, allowing teams to focus on more efficient delivery instead.
Miro has definitely reduced our need and reliance on different scattered apps, which is great. On the other hand, it hasn’t fully replaced tools for more detailed or structured tools (for project management, reporting, or presentations). We still end up using Jira, Asana, Google Slides, Excel and others, as some workflows just function in a way that aligns more with our demands.
I selected Miro because it’s the only tool out of all that can combine visuals with collaboration, comment and feedback. Since we have people from all sub-divisions that need a shared workspace to collaborate, an easy to use tool with maximum impact would make the greatest difference, and Miro encompasses this.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is definitely well-suited as a tool to map out processes, visualize workflows, and give feedback directly. Having multiple teams on the board increases transparency and helps us make faster decisions together. A specific scenario is when we map out all different kinds of user behavior metrics neatly next to each other on the board, so that all users can easily compare data. Scenarios where I’m not too keen on using the board is when I’m reporting on realtime/live data, as the integration functionality is limited.
