Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

I use monday.com for the management of cross-department projects. I also use the tool for project portfolio management and capacity planning.

Pros

  • Clean, simple, and visually pleasing interface
  • Offers a diverse set of widgets to support project planning and execution success
  • Allows archiving of information for later reference

Cons

  • I did not have a good handle on a way to utilize a collaborative whiteboard within the tool
  • I would like more user-support (webinars, courses, etc.) from the monday.com organization
  • I'd like more in-depth analytics to track how my team is managing projects overall
  • Increased departmental structure and organization when it comes to managing projects
  • One of my team members closed over 100 work requests in a matter of months - we would not have been able to know this without monday.com
  • The automatic reminders has made my role a project manager exponentially easier and less stressful
I think I only had to see and watch a handful of videos in order to get a decent grasp of the tool before rolling it out to my team. Other project managers and even leaders in other departments have asked me which tools I recommend and without a doubt it is monday.com. As a project manager in a very large organization, I am proud to say that I use monday.com as a project management tool.
I've only had to ask a question twice and each time the response was quick and solved the problem directly.
The features have worked as intended as far as I am concerned. The only key issue is that I would really like a general chat or collaborative whiteboard in the tool. Almost like a MS Teams feature, but one that is not connected to a document or board.

I think monday.com is well-suited for project management purposes including portfolio management, scope documentation, project plans, as well as resource capacity planning. My main desire is for more widgets or other means to collaborate in real time with team or organization members such as a collaborative whiteboard.
