Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

Monday.com is Cillessen & Sons, Inc. document hub for contracts, plans, change orders, ammendments, etc. It is also our source for consumable materials needed for pavement marking projects, is our hub for knowing upcoming projects to better schedule our crews, and acts as a virtual check list for our traffic control bosses to know phasing on specific jobs. Lastly our estimators use is as a progress tracker for bids that needs to go out, need or have been reviewed, won bids, and contractor with whom we won those bids.

Pros

  • upcoming work and associated timing of phase changes

Cons

  • automations are not always the easiest to use
  • A template format for subitems that can be reused.
  • POSTIVE - much less expensive with greater capability than our previous software
  • POSTIIVE - first time ever having specific timelines for our different division
  • POSITIVE - load time and accessibility is immensely better than our previous software
Usability is great - I wish template other than overall boards could be used to include subitems but the ease of use in creating a subitem makes it almost not needed. It cannot interface with our accounting software, but I do not believe that is needed. Storage of our construction plans was of the upmost importance as they can be large files. Accessibility in the field and in the office including load time makes it very very user friendly.
I have personally not needed customer support however the help videos on YouTube and more and more examples within the site as well have made the overall customer/user support very strong! I also say changing plans and adding seats doesn't require phone calls and back and forth with Monday.com also making the customer support and response time if needed much better than other softwares.
overall performance is outstanding. It loads quickly, had essentially unlimited cloud space, and can be used on a phone, computer, or laptop with ease. I'm able to work in an airport, on my phone while in a meeting, or evening out of town with ease. It is also so easy to communicate back and forth with team members to remind or give status updates on various projects. Something that previously for my company would have had to be phone call.

monday.com is well suited for status updates, document storage, and gantry charts. I would not use it for scheduling crew members or automated reminders of dates because a lot of that set up is manual. Date reminders can't be set to be annual either with a date that was originally in the past - specifically for employment anniversaries. Overall for my company's use in construction it is a great program!
