Overall Satisfaction with MS SharePoint / SQL
At our marketing firm, we have been heavy consumers of Microsoft products. As our company started to expand globally and due to the presence of many remote employees, we felt the need of using a proper content management system to improve interdepartmental collaboration. MS SharePoint was the natural choice for us mainly due to our existing alliance with Microsoft.
Pros
- Access and sharing through users is role-based and very familiar to the regular Microsoft Office suite.
- Document versioning and backups is a breeze.
- Microsoft SharePoint is one of the best tools for sharing and collaborating on internal documentation.
Cons
- Exposing websites outside the intranet can be really challenging.
- Customizations to provide the same look and feel to make it compliant with other company resources can be daunting as well.
We like it better.
