Overall Satisfaction with NetSuite ERP

NetSuite ERP serves as the backbone of our organization’s financial systems. It plays a central role in supporting key business processes such as Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, and rental services, which are critical to our day-to-day operations. The platform has significantly streamlined and automated previously manual tasks, including transaction approval workflows and three-way matching for vendor payments. NetSuite’s robust audit trails provide end-to-end visibility and accountability across all processes.

Pros

  • You can build multi-level approval workflows for vendor bills, purchase orders, and expense reports based on criteria such as amount, department, or location—without writing code.
  • Allows you to customize fields, forms, records, and workflows through a point-and-click interface according to your needs.
  • Easy to build dashboards & KPIs just by drag and drop or selecting saved searches/ reports.
  • Audti trails: Every field-level change is logged with user, date/time, and original vs. new value.

Cons

  • Data analysis functions need improvements like for complex searches or reports. Example, trnasactional based search needs to provide entity data access as well (Created By field is available in PO based search but Created By active/inactive is not available).
  • Integration & API Limitations: for example we are able to pull individual record level data easily through API but to bring a whole saved is not possible, one has to write javascript to do so. Should be user friendly.
  • Roles and Permissions: Setting up roles and permissions can be overwhelming. Small changes often require deep testing to ensure users don't get too much or too little access. Should be a way to clearly see what a role can do before assiging.
  • Due to automation in journal entries, intercompany eliminations, and bank reconciliations, month-end closing time reduced by 40%, from 10 days to 6 days.
  • NetSuite has delivered a strong return on investment.
  • Like many ERPs, the initial rollout required significant effort, both in change management and user training.
There is room for NetSuite to imporove an be more user firendly for example, reporting tools aren’t as user-friendly out of the box compared to modern BI platforms.
NetSuite offers a fully integrated solution that includes Finance, CRM, Inventory, Procurement, and Project Management—eliminating the need for multiple disconnected systems.

Other systems like Coupa offers business spend management.

Yes

Did NetSuite ERP live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of NetSuite ERP go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy NetSuite ERP again?

Yes

Best suited: NetSuite handles multi-subsidiary consolidation, intercompany transactions, and multi-currency reporting seamlessly. Automated eliminations and consolidated financials reduce month-end effort significantly. Small to mid size business like a company operating in Canada and the U.S. with multiple subsidiaries can benefit.

Less suited: Companies with cash sale models using NS POS (Point of Sale). NtSuite ERP is still using manually installations to create server/ client relationships and there are complex scripts running to support it. NSPOS are expensive compare to other POS available in the market.
