Overall Satisfaction with New Relic

I like all the features of New Relic with respect to its competitors but now because of its UI unresponsiveness its performance is going down a bit. But New Relic can improve that and also its pricing models are good as compare to other observability providers. And also it is adopting new technologies like AI which helps us to reduce the RCA through the AI results.
We use New Relic to monitor the performance and health of our applications, infrastructure, cloud services across various environments. It helps us quickly detect and troubleshoot issues, optimize application performance, and ensure a smooth user experience. The platform provides end-to-end visibility across our stack from backend services to frontend user interactions and integrates with our alerting and incident management tools. It helps us to reduce the downtime of our applications and also to reduce the MTTD and MTTR.

Pros

  • It gives us insights of applications, infrastructure, clouds very well.
  • The alerting system in New Relic helps us to easily identify the root cause which reduces the MTTR.
  • It has new features related to AI which helps to troubleshoot any problem in a very short time it gives future predictions also.

Cons

  • The distribution system of New Relic, currently it is available for APM and browser only so it will be helpful if we can put this feature in other services also.
  • Earlier New Relic UI is working fine, but now it is taking too much time to load the complete UI so New Relic can improve in that.
  • The positive impact which newrelic gives us that is, it reduced our MTTD, MTTR. Through newrelic we can easily monitor our infrastructures performance and utilization status. We just need to integrate the services with newrelic and newrelic captures all the telemetry form that service, through that data we can visualize proper dashboards also that helps the technical team to analyze their systems quickly.
  • Through the help of its agent we can easily trace the calls in application and also we show the complete sessions of any user.
  • Its Kubernetes monitoring feature is also very useful which gives us insights for all the k8s components, we can easily troubleshoot if we are getting any issue in that.
Yes it gives us the full stack view of any app, currently we are using that. Through this feature we are monitoring our frontend, backend, database as well as the underlying infrastructure for that application. And with the help of New Relic fullstack picture we can easily know the reason that where our application performance is going down and whats the exact reason for that.
Yes, it helps in reducing migration risk. Once we are doing any cloud migration or you can say cloud adoption at that time we don't know the exact behaviour and performance of those cloud resources. In that scenario, if we have integrated the cloud resources with newrelic then we can easily monitor the resources performance, utilzation and even by reviewing the utilization of the resources we can scale down the resources size if it's needed which helps us to reduce the cloud cost as well.
Yes, by using New Relic we can easily know the exact reports regarding the new deployment and if it's not working fine then we can rollback to older version and even we can identify the issues like where is the root cause. And also with help of New Relic we can easily monitor our pipelines as well as the deployment resources.
And once we are getting the data in New Relic then in that scenario we can create alerts and dashboards by utilizing those telemetry data whcih helps us to identify the root cause more quickly.
Its covers all the observability aspects as well as giving us more competitive pricing models compared to other providers that's why I like to use New Relic in place of other tools. And also it introduces new Agentic AI features as well as it adopts AI in its RCA. As an observability tool it should reduce the RCA of any problem and New Relic is continuously focusing on that that's why I am preferring New Relic in place of other tools.

I have used New Relic in different scenarios like monitoring my production infrastructure and applications which helps us to reduce the downtime of my applications and websites and also I have used the synthetic monitoring feature which helps to proactively monitor our websites availability. Along with this I have also used New Relic for cloud resources cost monitoring which helps to reduce my cloud cost. Also I have used mobile application monitoring which helps me to trace the sessions easily and I can easily reduce my RCA through the help of that.
