Nintex Workflow for Sharepoint

Overall Satisfaction with Nintex Platform

Nintex fills the gap of development not addressed by Sharepoint. Developers who start building solutions on Sharepoint very quickly realize the limitations of this platform and start looking for advanced workflow automation technologies. That's where Nintex fits in. We tried to roll out Nintex across the whole organization but it only got traction within a couple of departments.
  • Low learning curve.
  • Big focus on developer/user experience.
  • Multiple out-of-the-box connectors for third-party solutions like Office 365, Box and other apps mostly from the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • They really know how to build a user community.
  • Nintex is heavily dependent on Sharepoint and carries over many technical dependencies of this platform, making it difficult to scale.
  • Nintex makes bold statements about being a leader in the business process world yet they don't recognize many standards, e.g., BPMN.
  • We ran into a number of technical issues when supporting this platform.
  • Tons of support requests.
  • Not able to build a user community around this product.
  • Lack of reusability.
  • Small wins to quickly realize that our process automation needs were more complex.
We use Nintex on our Production Sharepoint farms. Deployment flexibility is essential since not all use cases can execute within Sharepoint world constraints.
We have a group of non-IT employees working with the Nintex platform and creating simple form and workflow solutions.
Nintex was selected to extend our Sharepoint-based workflow automation capabilities. It literally grew out of the Sharepoint ecosystem and was used by people who were familiar with this technology stack. Nintex never fulfilled the vision of a process automation stack but found it's niche among technically oriented users who wanted to supplement lists and forms with more advanced workflow.
Nintex Platform might be well suited for: Workflow automation scenarios that complement larger apps that don't offer workflow automation capabilities (i.e. Salesforce). Simpler and basic business processes that need to run in combo with Sharepoint. Situations where it's impossible to use other DPA Platforms or Microsoft Flow.
