Overall Satisfaction with Outreach

We use Outreach to mass send customer communications for operations, sales, customer success, and feedback. We use it for both current customers and potential prospects. However, our main use case is in the business development function where we create sequences for prospects in hopes of booking meetings for our closers .

Pros

  • Creating sequences
  • Tracking open rates and locations
  • Logging metrics

Cons

  • Constant UI updates makes it confusing
  • The analytics for heat maps
  • Task functions for skipping steps can be clunky
  • Increase in meetings booked
  • Increase in call metrics as it is easy to make more calls using Outreach features. Basically cutting down admin work time before the call.
  • Prospect journey and experience has been a positive flowing through a set amount of emails and calls rather than just being blasted with random emails. Helps BDRS stay focused on more important parts of the job.
When I first joined the company we were a sales team of 10. Over the last 4 years we have grown to 30 and have used Outreach the entire time. Everyone uses Outreach and it works for virtually any size business. The seat model works perfectly for any size company plus Outreach can handle hundreds of thousands of emails being sent out. We never have to worry about throttling or any type of lag time based on usage. This is key when scaling.
The main AI feature that I use when creating and tailoring sequences is the score feature. This feature basically calculates a success score based on the writing material and response metrics from the prospects. This score gives real time insights into what’s working and what’s not. It tells you how much time each person is spending on what step and how to fix it. It shows focus areas and what items might be negatively affecting the sequence.
I think Outreach is very easy to use and easily digestible. The reason I give it a 9 rather than a 10 is that over the years the UI updates have made some things hard to find or use. What was a perfect layout for some features seam to get tweaked more often then not there for causing for some headache. It is easy to re learn but I do find that updates for perfect areas happen more often then not.

Yes

Yes

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Outreach again?

Yes

Speaking from the sales perspective, this tool delivers on the key functions and is a driving force into the success of a lot of deals. When mapping out a plan of attack the sequence and task functions allow you to craft a journey for the prospect to flow through with basically any amount of customization. When things are working well it is easy to duplicate and use in other areas of the software making the plug and play method super approachable. I’m sales it’s all about being organized and having your leads all in one place. Outreach does a fantastic job linking to salesforce and other upload methods making it easy to house all of your potential prospects in one place.
