Overall Satisfaction with Parallels Remote Application Server

We provide our own BMD Software to our customers with Parallels Remote Application Server.

With BMD Cloud Services our goal is to offer more flexibility and mobility using BMD software. BMD offers the possibility to access the entire software package via the Internet directly on a server, secured and maintained by our BMD tech department.

Enable clients to do bookkeeping on your tax office’s IT infrastructure. The need not to exchange data constantly with clients leads to higher customer loyalty and up-to-date data.

With Parallels it is very easy for our costumers to connect to our cloud system.

  • Very good load balancing between session host servers.
  • Universal printing works great.
  • Client for Windows, Mac and mobile devices.
  • Every major upgrade is not so easy to install.
  • Like every other software - wait and don't use the first build of an upgrade.
  • All the problems with local printers are gone, no need to install native printer drivers.
  • Citrix Virtual Apps (formerly XenApp) and Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Manager (RDCMan)
Citrix is at the same level , but Parallels is cheaper.
Microsoft Connection Broker is not so stable and not at this level, Microsoft Universal Printing doesn't work as good as the Parallels solution.
We provide a download link to the client with a configuration file - that's it. Most of the costumers can access our cloud platform after some minutes.
We don't use the HTML5 browser because for most of our costumers our platform is their main application. So they install the full featured client. iOS and Android works well, but only to access the system to have a quick look at some data, not for really working.
In my opinion SSL is a must-have. The permission policies work good and we use multi-factor authentication with a radius solution in the background. Works like it should.
Some years ago the support was a little bit better (support team located in Germany) - now with the global support it is not so easy but ok.
