Overall Satisfaction with Paycom

Time tracking, employee record keeping, garnishments, workers' comp. Applicant tracking was something new for us, so we're learning that. So it's basically the recruiting, paying the people, retention, performance action plans, documenting conversations and reporting for finance.

Pros

  • I would say making sure that we're compliant with any changes that happen in the laws, especially the tax increases for SDA in different states. Not having to think about it. They actually do it for us. One thing I think they do particularly well is their implementation. The fact that they walk you through handhold. You always there for questions you have, no matter how many times you've asked them or help me do this, Paycom reconciles the data you pull in. Which to me is huge because our provider did not do that. It was basically, we just put what Paycom gives us and that's it. So they actually invest in you to make sure that your program and the implementation of what you want is going to work for your company. And if it doesn't, they fix it. How do we do this? Okay, well let me show you how to do this or let me change that. So very accommodating to our needs.

Cons

  • Probably just setting up how to set up certain policies like time off policies, explaining it more rather than them just doing it. Just kind of giving you a walkthrough. So if you have to add a new one, I mean I know I can always call them. I'm kind of a hands-on person that likes to do it myself. I do like the tutorials. I know it's only in Spanish, but maybe other languages would help for the training videos for our employees. I mean I like the Spanish, that's great, but we have Vietnamese employees and also if we want to take it to Canada for French or anything like that.
  • It's given us back time, time for our accounting department, finance for reporting. It's given back time to the HR department to actually do their job rather than troubleshooting, trying to fix things and auditing and re-audit the data and information because it's incorrect. So payroll, as long as my employees and managers do their job, it takes me 15 minutes to run payroll. Whereas before I would start Sunday and it would take me until about two o'clock in the afternoon the next day to finish it. So huge, huge time saver for me.
Data is consistent. I don't have revised W-2's that have to be done because they added an extra middle name or because they pulled the data into one module and it didn't translate over to another one. And if you put something in their profile, it didn't update it in benefits or you'd have to do an import. I didn't like the fact that you had to import, you had to lock your time cards to import it to be processed in payroll. So if there's an issue or error, you had to unlock it, go back, fix it. And it was not an easy process to do. It was more manual. It's like I had to do most of the work and Paycom, they pretty much do all the work, which is nice, especially with Beti because I think we left when Beti was just starting up. So now I've seen the improvements of Beti and it's amazing,
Has cut our onboarding, our reporting are my managers now. It's an easy quick thing for them to do. They actually like to access Paycom because everything's right there for them. They can see it, approve timecard, have a conversation, document something rather than, I got to go to my email, I got to do this. They can just have it in there. They can now look at conversations, have accountability with employees like, Hey, this is a conversation we have. Okay, acknowledge it. Do you have anything to say? And it comes back. So it's actually allowing more communication, clear communication with my managers and the employees.
