Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

Payroll, employee files, and HR functions are accessed through Paylocity. Payroll is completely outsourced to Paylocity; employee tax forms are held on the platform along with quarterly company reports. HR reporting for salary decisions is used. Employees access their payroll information directly from Paylocity through the employee portals.

We do not use Paylocity as a timekeeper, our accounting software is where time is input. Scheduling is also done outside of Paylocity; if that was an option on our current plan, we would look into it, though.
Employees are very happy with the employee portals; they can answer many questions prior to needing to speak with accounting or HR. The ability to update personal information and forms through the portal has made administrative tasks easier for our out-of-town employees and has provided them with the ability to maintain up-to-date information in their accounts.
On-Pay was an outsourced payroll system; it was not user-friendly. There were no employee portal perks; reporting was awful, and it took quite a bit of time to find what you needed. In the end, it just wasn't robust enough for our company. There wasn't the ability to maintain records other than payroll on the platform.

For company payroll, Paylocity is an excellent choice. It creates an easy pathway from payroll to the employee for information. I do feel that the ability to create reports that are specific to your needs would be a great addition. Because that is not an option, I feel in scenarios where your company needs to match the premade report templates, Paylocity is less helpful.
