Paylocity Review.
Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
I'm the Payroll Administrator at my organization and one of the super users at my company. We use it to process payroll, terminations, new hires, status changes, pay adjustments, and reporting. I'm a heavy user of HR and payroll, Time & Labor, and Web Link. I'm a moderate user of Bswift and Onboarding.
Pros
- Customer service is exemplary. If my super awesome account manager is unavailable, I'm usually able to get a great answer from someone else on the team.
- Reporting is very robust - It's possible to pull data on virtually any field.
- Ease of use—The GUI is very intuitive and logical. If you don't know how to do something, it's pretty easy to figure it out.
Cons
- While likely a security feature, Paylocity will kick you out of the system and make you log back in at strange intervals, sometimes shortly after you log in fresh.
- When searching for an employee in the "Employee Payroll File" or "Employee HR File," if the employee is not found, the system will kick you back to the Employee Search screen. It would be nice if it stayed on the page and said, "Employee not found."
- We went from PAPER payroll processing to Paylocity - this has been a major money saver for us.
- We now have clean data on approving raises, bonus payments, and other employee changes. When we do our annual audit, we can pull clean reports to reconcile payments.
A great deal of time was spent in the past on manual data entry for time worked. It was also difficult to track raises and other employee changes, and any calculations had to be done manually. The integrity of correct pay has greatly increased, saving the company money by decreasing overpayments and off-cycle payments. This has directly contributed to our increase in employee retention and better performance on yearly audits.
The Community tool is where employees can see what job openings are currently available at the company. This increases employee engagement because employees are not only looking for new opportunities for themselves but can also recommend friends and family to apply for open positions.
Paylocity is a much more robust system than PeopleSoft. The automation is superior, and the reporting is much more friendly.
