Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use the Paylocity HR & Payroll, Compensation, Data Insights, Recruiting, Spending Accounts, Survey, Time & Labor modules, and their Bswift Benefits integration. They are a good platform for an organization our size. I prefer to have everything, or as much as possible, on one platform. It is a very solid offering at a very fair price point. While I already really like it, I am certain there is untapped potential in other modules that I have yet to explore.

Pros

  • Payroll processing - logical, quick, accurate, repeatable.
  • HR data gathering - complete and thorough options with a full set of data points to consider.
  • Recruitment module is solid - not a lot of bells and whistles, but it works. And that matters.

Cons

  • Service can be spotting - constantly changing contacts and support relationships.
  • There are some pretty simple things that cannot be done - random stuff. That is disappointing.
  • While I am guessing training during integration is good, if you are put in charge of Paylocity after implementation, good luck with training, unless you love to watch hours of basic videos in your spare time. Hope you have someone on staff to teach you, otherwise learning "The Paylocity Way" can be and is a challenge. This is an inherent issues for all HRIS/Human Capital platforms.
  • A very good value proposition - good platform at a reasonable cost
We underutilize the capabilities of this platform.
None - we under utilize the capabilities of this platform.
As good or better than any of the above, overall. Every HRIS system has strengths and weaknesses. Paylocity does some things better than others, but overall it is a great platform.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

Well position with features, functions and pricing for smaller organizations. We have 100 or so. Works great for our size. I would guess you get to 1000 or more turnover with some turnover, then Paylocity might be a bit of a challenge. That is purely my guess and not supported by direct evidence. I have worked in many different HRIS systems in my career.

Using Paylocity

  • Spending Accounts
Other than service, they are great! Service isn't bad, but it could simply be better.

Paylocity Support

Convoluted service model. They rotate main contact people, not sure that is by design or attrition, but I don't like it. Establish a relationship with someone and they are gone, and start over.
ProsCons
None
Poor followup
Problems left unsolved
Not kept informed
Escalation required
Difficult to get immediate help
Need to explain problems multiple times
Slow Initial Response
Yes - Eventually. Usually the answer is - it is a known issue or a common request. We will let our developers know. Right...

Using Paylocity

Once figured out, usability is quite high. There are some glaring omissions or workflows that can be a bit clunky, but it is overall very user friendly. I rate it this way as I can often anticipate or resolve questions by simply self-educating or trying different things.
