Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
Paylocity is our HRIS, timekeeping, and payroll system. Benefits, spending accounts, and COBRA are integrated, as is recruiting and onboarding. Having everything in one place is easier for employees to navigate. It's also a few less websites/partners for HR to manage. Another benefit is HR can report on a variety of functions with the ease of one platform.
Pros
- Employee records
- Recruiting process
- Bidirectional EDI feeds with benefits providers
Cons
- Payroll is more time consuming for HR I experienced with other platforms
- General ledger reporting must be updated by Paylocity. They're working on a revision that would allow the client to re-map their general ledger reports but there's no release date yet.
- Onboarding has all the digital options but it's not very intuitive or welcoming. The company has to enhance the experience in other ways.
- Integration of the benefits reduced daily benefits administration by 80%.
- Schedule templates improved the accuracy of payroll accruals and monthly reporting.
- We continue to invest more money in Paylocity modules to improve our employee experience.
Updating the schedule templates is easy. Employees have the option of clocking in/out via timeclocks or the app. My experience is about 70% of our employees prefer the app. The integration of Time & Labor with Payroll makes the hourly employee payroll easier than using an external timekeeping system. As stated before, the payroll process has too many steps and I need to review each employee to ensure payroll is correct. How much of this relates to the timekeeping process rather than the payroll process? That's a good question. I had upwards of 225 employees at my last job and spent about 15 minutes on payroll processing. I have less than 50 here and spend 3-4 hours from start to finish.
We're not using the employee engagement tools in a consistent manner. Employees are not highly responsive to the Community. We've had moderate success with Surveys. We use an external provider for recognition & rewards so Impressions is not used at all. Premium video is on the future list we understand there are multiple ways to post content - recruiting, onboarding, open enrollment, training, and internal communications.
