In some cases it has been very helpful. In many cases, it has created additional work due to the system's inflexibility.
Helped build my employee recognition program.
Mostly, it is easy to use. But the system, at its core, is hard coded for "cookie cutter" organizations. If your organization has any unique aspects, Paylocity requires special modules be built to handle that and will ultimately create more work for the organization.
In my past experience, Paylocity and Paycom are very similar. Every other system I've used has been very "techy" and complicated. Paylocity is very user friendly.

Problems with initial set up. It takes many iterations of custom work to shape Paylocity to the needs of unique organizations.
