Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We use Paylocity for the HR & Payroll and Time and attendance modules, employee engagement (Community and groups, recognition, and performance modules), and have started using it for the LMS features when creating internal company training. Payroll functions aside, it has become a valuable tool for disseminating information to the staff on a single platform.
Pros
- Community and groups. Great for communicating within smaller circles (specific shifts and departments).
- The file repository for Community Plus within groups is great for quick access to important documents.
- The recognition/impressions feature is a nice touch for employee engagement.
Cons
- The scheduling plus feature lacks in flexibility with different operations. Perhaps great for an all-corporate office staff, but not quite for great day-to-day duty assignments for field staff. We find ourselves continuing to use an Excel spreadsheet to do day-to-day duty assignments due to being significantly more efficient and time saving.
- PTO projection has gotten better since we first came on board, but simply seeing your remaining projected balance to the end of the year within the time off module would be nice rather than having to select a day as if you were requesting a day off on 12/31. It only now does what ADP has done for a very long time.
- More flexibility with time off policies. An accrual for "unpaid time off" so part time staff who do not get paid time off can still track and manage a set amount of time off.
- Most features improve time efficiency and work processes.
- Scheduling feature ends up decreasing time efficiency.
- Errors seems to be reduced do to conductivity between the various modules.
Cannot comment too much on this, but the scheduling automation is difficult to get a handle on to work for our operation as well as it should, and since the time tracking relies heavily on the scheduling features to compare worked hours vs scheduled hours, we feel we don't get the full benefits of all features.
It is easier to communicate information to all of the company, as well as specific groups and shifts of the company. File repositories in individual groups makes for a quick access to documents the employees within those groups may need. Peer recognition is a great overall feature for getting employees to engage with each other, as well as getting management to engage with employees.
