Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

I have clients that use Paylocity as their payroll provider. I provide outsource accounting services for my clients and this includes processing payroll, from time to time, on various different platforms, Paylocity being one of those platforms. While Paylocity also offers more robust HR solutions, my client does not utilize those functions. We process payroll semi monthly.

Pros

  • Simple Batch creation process
  • Simple Batch editing process
  • Great customer service!!! x 10 Best of Class

Cons

  • Sometimes editing employee profiles are hard to navigate
  • changing employment status/history is hard to find
  • adding new rates vs editing new rates is difficult.
  • When it comes to payroll liability, I don't like to mess with it. Reduced errors is huge!
  • Timely filing, we never have issues when it comes to our filings.
  • Payroll processing is quick and easy! huge time saver.
The efficiency and time I save when it comes to running payroll is huge! I have used software in the past, where processing payroll was a half day process. I just don't have that time and luxury any more. I can have a batch created and payroll processed in as little as five minutes! And if I have a question, I can have an actual rep on the phone in less than 2!
We have not employed or used Paylocity's employee engagement tools yet. We have not had a need or haven't seen a need to implement these into our systems. We are a small company that does everything old fashioned I guess, and we see and communicate face to face and in person.
When it comes to creating a batch, and processing payroll, Paylocity is quick and simple to do. The only downside, which I wouldn't consider to be a huge downside, is that from time to time when I have to change employee information (which isn't often, and maybe part of the issue) it can be hard to find what I am looking for, or it isn't in the spot I would think I could find it.
Patriot Software, ADP and ADP Run, Paychex, Gusto, Sure Payroll.
When it comes to the Batch creation and Processing, Paylocity is great. And when it comes to customer service and reachability, Paylocity is Best of Class! Sometimes, the User Experience and navigation is hard for me, maybe I am different and it is great for other people.

The main reason I would recommend Paylocity is because of the customer service! Every time I have an issue that I can't figure out right away on my own, I can call in and get a very well trained person in the United States that can walk me through the process of what I am trying to do.
For a person who isn't familiar with payroll processing, I might be hesitant to list Paylocity as my first recommendation, but anyone would be able to learn it simple enough.
