Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for our payroll, benefits, COBRA administration and are setting it up to use for recruiting and onboarding

Pros

  • Support is very quick and knowledgeable
  • Payroll is easy and quick to run
  • They made a custom report for us that is great!

Cons

  • Make it a little easier to set up new employees - it doesn't always set up defaults correctly
  • Would like to be able to run the YTD payroll register by employee rather than by job
  • Add in or send how-to information for first time users
  • Payroll has more features and is less expensive than some of the other payroll companies
  • The employees like the mobile interface
Good, but we are still learning how everything works.
We don't use it yet, but are working on setting it up.
Some things are difficult to find and/or correct because they are in an unexpected place. I have to use the help function quite often for this.

It does a good job with job costing for construction, but the initial setup was a bit difficult. Apparently there are several different ways it can be set up and the coordination between the Payroll and Time and Labor modules don't always sync properly

Using Paylocity

24 - All of our employees use it for timesheets. 2 of us use it for running payroll
1 - As the controller & HR person, I found it to be very similar to other payroll programs. You need a logical mind and some experience with payroll

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

Yes - Replaced iSolved Payroll. They did not have very good support.
  • Integration with Other Systems

Paylocity Implementation

They need to have better coordination between the Time and Labor people and the HR & Payroll people
Change management was minimal
  • They changed personnel several times and we had to relearn things

Paylocity Support

They can usually resolve my problem with one call, but occasionally it takes a while to get things resolved to my satisfaction.
