Overall Satisfaction with Procore

The whole organization has adopted Procore recently (within the last 2 years) to address the document management and user interface challenges that were apparent in our previous software application. This transition has been way easier than many people expected thanks to the simple and intuitive user interface. No matter how broad our market, Procore has tools that will be utilized on jobs of any size and type.
  • RFIs tool. Simple to add items and attach links.
  • Homepage overview. Main landing page for each project makes it easy to tell what items are open and what needs attention.
  • Ease of owner responses to submittals and RFIs. Many owners require the use of their own software so that their system saves a record. With Procore, our owner simply needs to respond to the question in an email-type format and then they can export the issue into PDF form and save it to their system.
  • Punchlist tool. Our project team has recently started using the punchlist tool (within the last month), and we were not impressed by the capabilities and customization options that were available to us. When a PDF is generated, the pictures are too small to be effective for someone in the field that needs to do the work. Along those same lines, the map for each item is quite small as well as the icons that show where the punchlist item is located. Build some customization options for reports into the Admin tools so I can scale the pictures up in size or reorganize the punchlist items by location, etc.
  • Meeting format. I have been using the Meetings tool to produce weekly agendas but the format is setup as more for a checklist of items to complete. You can assign responsibilities in Procore meetings and list the item to complete. I would like to see a format that involves a topic to discuss with the entire team and then list out the items which relate to the topic.
  • Input time for RFIs and submittals has been reduced. Was not by a huge margin compared to our previous document manager, but definitely enough to free up some additional field time.
  • Punchlists took a step back from our previous document manager. The report generated is clean and well organized but the map/pictures are too small for anyone who was not at the punchlist walk in the first place.
Procore has a simple user interface similar to PlanGrid but the capabilities of Procore are far more apparent for the price. PlanGrid was our 'go-to' for punchlists and ease-of-use in the field. Procore has tools that are much broader for our company. The submittal and RFI's tools can't even compare to those of PlanGrid. Bim360 is just plain confusing to setup and not user friendly.
Procore is well suited for a project that is large and requires input from several designers, owners, and trade partners. If the project is small, Procore doesn't have nearly the value due to the long setup time required on the front end. Thankfully, one branch of our organization is dedicated to populating the directory and templates prior to starting Procore for a new job. I imagine the initial setup would take anywhere from 1-4 hours not including uploading drawings.
