Overall Satisfaction with Procore

We use Procore for most aspects of bidding and project management. All construction/pre-construction teams use Procore. Procore has given us the ability to work more closely with our subcontractors and clients. Having one platform for submittals, pay apps, drawings, etc. is a major advantage.
  • Subcontractor pay applications: Standardizes format, submission time frame and reduces errors. Also prevents subcontractors from billing change orders that have not been approved.
  • Incidents Tool: Allows superintendents to quickly document issues and forward the information to the appropriate parties immediately. Records like this are invaluable for dispute resolution.
  • Drawings Tool: Allows us to maintain the most current set of drawings while recording the change progression of each drawing. Our subcontractors and clients always have access to the current drawings so this limits confusion. Procore also allows us to easily send updated drawing links to our subcontractors for pricing and review.
  • Bidding: I've noticed improvements but more needs to be done (choosing trades to invite, recording notes). Would especially like to see a vendor database that is managed by the individual vendors.
  • Directory: Need more robust search features. It would be nice to be able to print distribution lists.
  • Daily Logs: It should be easier to search and view daily reports and to print multiple reports.
BuilderTrend approached us recently and we were given a demo. Both of us agreed that BuilderTrend was more suited to home building. We're commercial builders so this wasn't a good option for us. We use Building Connected occasionally, just the free subscription and for bidding only. We are not delving into their project management capabilities. We are satisfied with Procore and are not looking to replace it. We are adding on with DocuSign and lienwaivers.io.
We have benefited. Our superintendents like being able to access the most current drawings. Our subcontractors are pleased with the pay application process. Owners like being "in the loop" with RFIs and submittals.
  • Improved relationships (subcontractors and owners).
  • Definitely saved time and paper.
  • Less confusion regarding the most up-to-date information: Drawings, submittal status, RFI answers, commitment status.
  • Gain visibility into projects
  • Ensure information is accessible and up to date
  • Document job site conditions
  • Report on incidents and inspections
Procore contains all the information (drawings, incidents, daily reports, etc.) in one platform. We can communicate easily with our subcontractors and provide them with the tools they need to build the project successfully and remedy any issues immediately.
We didn't have any problems implementing Procore internally. But some subcontractors are resistant to change!
Having subcontractors enter pay applications in Procore has been a major success for our company. We also think the drawing, submittal, commitment, RFI, daily log tools are highly effective. We're not as impressed with the budget and field productivity tools. Procore does not interact with our accounting software.
