Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise

We use Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise as our primary accounting program. All AR/AP, budgeting transactions happen in Quickbooks. We also manage inventory. The reports available are rich and the program has some pretty advanced functionality. It has allowed us to keep track of spending in the different departments and focus on areas where we were overspending.
  • Reporting.
  • Budgeting.
  • Ease of Use.
  • Only one ship to address per invoice (can't do drop ships).
  • Uses its own language so sometimes hard for integration.
  • Still not able to pull some specific report analytics.
  • Helped us to nail down G/L accounts where we were overspending.
  • Allows management to have custom reports.
  • Tie in to Avalara's Avatax is really helpful.
  • Wish there was the ability to have multiple tax jurisdictions on the same invoice (drop ships).
We have over 10 years of data and we've doubled in size in that time. The program has been able to handle that growth without issue. We have talked about potentially splitting out our data file at some point so it doesn't get too big but we are keeping tabs on the data file fragments to make sure we are maintaining a healthy data file.
We had system overlap for about 3 months but we worked with a Quickbooks advisor who helped us set up our chart of accounts and transition our data over to the new platform. I highly recommend using an advisor so you get things right the first time and not have to go back and change things later on.
We had never done budgeting before Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise. In the past few years, we implemented that feature and it has helped us to keep better tabs on our spending and make more effective/efficient business decisions. It helps to have numbers to back up some decisions versus just making a gut call and hoping for the best.
Ultimately, the decision really came down to the advisor that we chose to use. Pricing was also a big factor and the ability to tie into other applications/programs.

Do you think QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise's feature set?

Yes

Did QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise again?

Yes

Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise has a pretty rich inventory portal so we use this version over the online version. I believe the online version allows for easier integration with other programs though. I also think the reporting capabilities are richer in the desktop version versus the online version. It has helped us to stay focused on areas where we were overspending.
