Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write

As a district, we use Read&Write district-wide to support to our students. Our students love the text-to-speech feature as well as text prediction. These features have been vital for preparing our students for state-testing and practicing their accommodations during their daily work. Read&Write also has a great customer support staff and provides great support and training opportunities.

Pros

  • Customer Suppport
  • Text-to-Speech
  • Collect highlights
  • Talk & Type

Cons

  • Pricing
  • Compatibility
  • Training
  • Accessible content
  • Easy accommodations
  • Consistency for teachers and students
Read&Write allows easy access as a Chrome extension for all students, not just those who qualified for accommodations. It is also a tool that provides many resources that students can use on different pages, sites, and online processors such as Google Docs. A great resource and also does not require a lot of teacher knowledge to implement.
For our Dyslexia students, Read&Write made a significant difference in their ability to access course material in the click of a button. The product is a one-stop shop with so many tools that can also be used in our learning management systems for both the older and younger students.
Great customer service, but would love to have a better administrator dashboard that allows for accuracy of product usage.
It's vital as a district that has different LMS's. We have two LMS's- one for older students in secondary and one for elementary. This product supports all learners so as they transition from elementary to secondary, they are able to have consistency. We also have a variety of different language abilities, and this product also supports students who are English language learners.
Great product, but very costly with the current education environment. I would hate to lose the product because of costs because our students love it, but it is very costly. There also should be more information about the usage. As a district with budget cuts, usage is very important and when making the big decisions, it's important to know where the money is spent, and if it's effective for students.

Do you think Read&Write delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Read&Write's feature set?

Yes

Did Read&Write live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Read&Write go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Read&Write again?

Yes

Read&Write is suited for all students because it accommodates students from kindergarten-12th grade. Since our students have been using the platform for many years, they are well-trained and well-versed in the product. I do not believe that our students and staff utilize all of the features to the extent that is capable, but because the students use it as an accommodation, they use it only as needed.
