Overall Satisfaction with Rippling

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Rippling for HR purposes, payroll, and spend management. My use case is mostly in the spend management domain, assessing the business expenses of everyone in our organization and syncing the expense data over to our accounting and donor database software to ensure that we can meet legal reporting requirements properly.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Having an intuitive website layout
Spelling out required tasks for new hires
The customer service team is super kind and responsive

Cons

They give me way more tasks to complete than is necessary for me specifically
Their accounting sync needs to be able to group reimbursements by the day they were paid out
The color scheme is a bit uninspired

Return on Investment

Saves us a ton of money per month on reimbursements (we don't have to pay anything)
Really useful integration into our accounting software for the most part
We were able to add spend management functionality on top of our existing payroll system

Alternatives Considered

Emburse Spend

Rippling is a lot less finnicky and more intuitive than Emburse, and has much better UX. The Emburse website stressed me out much more frequently than the Rippling website does, it's a considerable improvement. The Rippling customer service team is also much better - they're super kind and considerate and you can tell they've been trained well.

Support Rating

Rippling has been super proactive in being a resource for us, and doing whatever possible to make our experience with their company easier. Among the best I've ever seen frankly. Their kindness radiates out of their emails, and their diligence, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail are phenomenal. Whoever's running their customer service department deserves a raise.

Usability

Overall quite user-friendly - I'm able to figure out where to find the sections of the website I need rather easily for the most part. The super wide search bar at the top is actually a good idea, and it captures most of what you need it to. I wish some of the sections within Finance were more clearly labeled, however; that's tripped me up in the recent past. I think more than one sub-section is called "Settings".

Likelihood to Recommend

Rippling has been really helpful supplying me with all the information I need to track and properly categorize employee spending; but must be more versatile in our ability to sync over transactions to our accounting software as we see fit. It's also very well-suited for onboarding new employees and for running payroll.
