Overall Satisfaction with Rippling

I enjoy most that many functions in my role are all housed in the same platform. This includes payroll, HR, finance and file management operations. Each of these used to function separately in different platforms which would make management and keeping up with software updates difficult.

Pros

  • Consolidate business functions
  • Easy to manage permissions for each
  • Process contractors and employees in one payroll system

Cons

  • Periodically run into software bugs
  • More live trainings on new or complex features
  • Report building is not intuitive
  • Reduced from 3+ platforms to 1
  • Cut payroll processing time by 75% weekly
Previously used OptimumHR which didn't allow processing of global employees or contractors along with my domestic ones. Also didn't have the financial tools built in.
If a non urgent issue, they can be slow to find a resolution. You are usually sent to a general support line for faster responses vs. having one account manager.

Bugs are not infrequent, and they make UI changes often enough that i'm usually searching for tools I used to know where they were.
As the manager for multiple business functions (HR, Payroll, finance) it is useful for me to have it under one umbrella. If those systems were completely broken out by different departments and needed more customizable functions, it may be less of a perk.
