Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
Sage Inracct is used across the whole company. It is mostly used for company financials, but our project managers use reports to help run their jobs. The financial part of Intacct works very well. With the new Construction module, the project accounting is much better. We can now do more inside of Intacct and not have to do it in excel.
- The cash management module is very easy to use and works well. Makes bank reconciliations easy.
- The Report Center is very nice; there are many standard reports. But the report writer is great, gives you the ability to create reports for what you need.
- AP and AR modules are also very easy to use. The Manage View feature is very handy to help sort by specific things to make finding entries easy.
- The Project module needs more functionality. It is basically a data entry area. The schedule of values isn't in Intacct at all. You have no visibility of invoices by project or to be able to tell what invoices on that project are open without going to a different module and running reports. In the Project module, you get very high-level information, but you're not able to get any good detail.
- Purchase orders cannot be edited/updated after they have been partially converted. This is a big oversight; it is very common to have to add items to a PO, especially for items like freight which is completely unknown at the time of PO creation. You should be able to at very least be able to add new likes to a PO after partial conversion.
- You should be able to have as many Project Items/cost codes as you want. If you're a project-based company and all projects are completely different, you need to be able to track against many items.
- It has been a big time saver with having more functionally that our previous QuickBooks
- The new construction module is starting to save time now the the project contract is loaded into Intacct. The ability to generate invoices off the contact has saved time and cut down on entry errors.
- Having the ability to attach copies of invoices to our bill entry saves us time looking up old invoices or anything else that is attached to the entry in the system that we weren't able to do before Intacct.
- The current change order process is a big time consuming process, and it still doesn’t give us what we need. I hear that Sage is working on improving this feature though.
Having the agility to setup automatic recurring entries has saved us time and accuracy. Being able to have anything automated is obviously a big time saver and increases accuracy.
We have used global consolidation, multi-entity, and project accounting modules. The global consolidation and multi-entity have been great. Working with different entities in different currencies can be very confusing, and Intacct has been a big help with making this easier. The project accounting has been somewhat of a letdown, doesn't has enough functionality.
