Overall Satisfaction with Salesforce Sales Cloud

We use it to track our leads, contacts, accounts, and opportunities. So our entire sales process is driven within Sales Cloud and we're now expanding it to include a lot of our marketing activities as well as quoting and billing.

Pros

  • It does a good job of routing our leads to customers, to our inside sales reps and teams.
  • It does a good job of tracking all of the opportunities that we have, the contacts that we have with people related to the opportunities.
  • Organizing and being able to do reports on what our sales are.

Cons

  • Duplication issues, the standard duplication rules in Salesforce to keep track of accounts and contacts could use a lot of improvements.
  • The ability really to set up the hierarchies and understand accounts across different levels. Still need some work.
  • It's had a huge positive impact because before they implemented Salesforce organization, which I moved in after the decision had been made, implementation had started, we had multiple systems and tools, everything from Excel to other CRM systems, trying to track at the individual location level, what the business was doing. A lot of different reports, not really understanding the entirety of what our business was doing with customers. And so Salesforce has integrated that as one single location where we can understand what business we're doing.
So I've evaluated, implemented Microsoft Dynamics in the past. I've used Oracle CRM solutions. I've used Daylight, which is a very niche CRM system the last couple of years. And I've evaluated a variety from Legacy Microsoft Ones to Zoho and Sugar when making implementation decisions at other companies. But usually I've gone with Salesforce. I'd say it's better than most. The only one that I generally prefer, and last time I chose an implementation from scratch, I did Microsoft Dynamics. And the reason is for small mid-size organization, Microsoft Dynamics, if you already have Microsoft Office products, it's much better integrated to all of the Excel, Word, OneNote, Outlook email than what you get from Salesforce. And so that's the only one that if someone's a Microsoft organization and small sized company, it'll save a lot of integration things, a lot of security, a lot of login and access and IT management by just sticking within the Microsoft ecosystem. But outside of that, if you don't use Microsoft or if you're a large organization or have other needs that you want, Salesforce I'd say is better than all of the other CRM offerings out there. It's the easiest to use and the most robust and the most vendors and products for the ecosystem.

Do you think Salesforce Sales Cloud delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Salesforce Sales Cloud's feature set?

Yes

Did Salesforce Sales Cloud live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Salesforce Sales Cloud go as expected?

No

Would you buy Salesforce Sales Cloud again?

Yes

It's really suited any organization that really wants to track the sales that they do, both business to consumer, but also business to business and really tracking accounts that they work with and all of the contacts at those accounts. So being able to understand what those accounts are doing, who the most important people there are that are doing business with us, what their roles are, organization, and then really track the end-to-end life cycle of opportunities that we're working with at those customers.
