Overall Satisfaction with ScreenConnect

I use it at my work to support all our clients. We integrate with LabTech and roll it out to all client machines. It's much much better than VNC. We use it for file transfers, remote support, and monitoring of all our client servers. We previously used VNC and it was very hit or miss. If LabTech goes down we can log in to the screenconnect console and use that.
  • Being able to connect to a machine/server even if a DNS server is down or broken is a great feature, as we use LabTech a lot. If it goes down or a DC goes down we still need to be able to connect to devices, and screenconnect can still connect to devices, so its great.
  • If LabTech is down, we can log into the web console and use that for remote support so we can still do our jobs and support clients.
  • I enjoy the speed screenconnect produces, even with people using 3 dongles or that have poor internet service. We don't have any issues with screenconnect, compared to VNC where it will pause.
  • Integration with other third party software could be improved, or a Windows application that can be used to manage PCs and clients, given that screenconnect can gather so much info about devices.
  • It's hard to use the data that is collected because it's in a web browser if there was an application that could provide realtime data and alerts it would make it much more attractive as a remote support tool.
  • We find some compatibility with older machines, like Windows 7 and certain graphics drivers, that I think could be improved, as all we see is a black screen.
  • Definitely increased efficiency, waiting for ultra VNC to connect over screenconnect is amazing, it just works.
  • The way it performs on slow connections as good, it allows you to support basically anyone.
  • The price is up there if you need multiple users or more concurrent sessions, but all remote access software is expensive. But the overall cost is good with the efficiency you gain.
We were using VNC, Ultra and Tight, they were temperamental, sometimes worked, and took forever. We also used TeamViewer which is good, but not interchangeable with LabTech so we hit a road block, RealVNC was also looked at but with the other issues faced with Ultra it was hard to stick with VNC. We saw screenconnect and loved how easy it is to use, no turning back, it's here to stay, and with more features and other management software, we could get rid of LabTech.
Screenconnect is well suited when needing temporary access to a PC/server. It's very simple to generate a code, provide that to the user, then you're in. I like that and the new feature for then converting that support install to a full install is great. I think the data collection can be improved. And giving real-time data to clients - I think this would be great for small IT business that can't afford thousands for software like LabTech.
