Overall Satisfaction with ConnectWise Control (formerly ScreenConnect)
We use ScreenConnect for remote access as a replacement for TeamViewer. It's used mostly for users who don't need to do a lot remotely (some remote IT administration tasks, coding, viewing intranet websites). It works fine for this purpose, it's temporarily in place for remote access until we setup a proper VPN.
- Cheap for just remote access on machines
- Easy to administer
- Software is stable
- Can feel sluggish at times compared to LMI or TeamViewer
- Standard options are significantly more expensive than just basic Remote Access
- Extremely easy setup and instantly hit the ground running, so very little cost for complexity or learning curve
- Gain efficiency by allowing technicians remotely to fix simple things without having to drive in on weekends or the middle of the night
- Lower cost vs some other more established solutions
The Remote Access software is pretty comparable to all three options. Since I only have the remote access there a lot of features I'm missing that I was accustomed to with the other two. It's more comparable to Chrome RD. I chose SC because I needed some user management features which Screen Connect had and Chrome RD didn't, and was much more affordable than LogMeIn or TeamViewer.
