Shopify...the best small to medium business ecommerce platform
Overall Satisfaction with Shopify
I would recommend using Shopify if you have no experience with ecommerce programming and your company makes less than $2 million in revenue. It is the best small to medium business platform out there and easy to use. Plus, there are a ton of widgets and plugins that can easily be added. You can easily change the theme and make edits.
I say $2 million because if your company makes more than that, you should be able to higher a freelance developer or in-house as a matter of fact to use Magento. Magento is free and has more customization ability.

Pros
- Can quickly launch a store, even within a day
- No need for development work with lots of themes & plugins
- Low cost, between $29 to $79 a month
Cons
- Shopping cart is hard to customize and it's hosted by Shopify separately
- Transaction fees can get high if you have a lot of transactions
- To do any special customizations, you will need a developer and the platform is somewhat rigid with capabilities.
- Shopify represents one of the lowest cost ways to start selling online using a hosted solution.
- Shopify is integrated with payment providers, and its built-in speed checkout allows customers to pay with minimal load time.
- Shopify offers multiples free themes and numerous custom-built premium themes along with the option to customize and add features for developers.
Choosing Magento Enterprise is a cost-effective way to achieve the goal of a more synergistic brand image online but the ROI is not immediately quantifiable. Magento is not easy to use at all if you’re a beginner. The downside of Magento is you will also have a hosting platform, which can be tricky to deal with.
