Overall Satisfaction with Skype
Skype is used for team members to keep in touch and direct message one another. Groups can be made to include multiple people/departments. It is widely used throughout the whole organization. Video conferencing is also available. At the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Skype was used to facilitate meetings that had been in person.
Pros
- Instant messaging
- User friendliness
- Video conferencing
- Group threads
Cons
- Slow, big files
- Recording video to send later
- Identification of who is speaking
- Increased communication within teams
- Increased communication between teams
- More effective productivity
- Microsoft Teams and Zoom
Skype is more user-friendly than these other products. Skype has a simple, easy-to-understand user interface that even newcomers to audio/video conferencing can understand intuitively. While Skype and Zoom offer similar features, they are loaded down with extras: more buttons to click, more hoops to jump through. With Skype, it is fairly simple as point and shoot. Other platforms unnecessarily complicate this process.
