Overall Satisfaction with Skype for Business (formerly Lync)

We utilize Skype for Business as our main communication tool outside of of e-mail. It's used primarily as an instant messaging tool and a presentation tool.
  • Integrates well with our Microsoft prodcts
  • Reliable instant messaging program
  • Video conferencing works well
  • Ability to present desktop
  • Has increased productivity, especially for employees who work remotely.
  • Has been a reliable tool for group conferences.
  • Ability to share desktop has proven to work great in smaller group conferences.
We've used Lync (Skype for Businesses predecessor), WebEx, LogMeIn, Vidyo, to name a few. For what it's designed to do, Skype for Business has worked well. It's an intuitive tool that allows people who are not as tech savvy to easily use it.
Skype for Business is great for conference calls, video conferencing, and desktop sharing. If you are looking for a tool for large groups, there are better alternatives (i.e. WebEx, Vidyo, etc.).
