Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it across the whole organization for internal communication, but are just started to use it for external communication with our clients as well. It addresses the problem of communication delays very well and also helps enhance our culture with add-ons like GIFs, memes and other tools. It's great!

Microsoft Lync

I definitely prefer Slack because there's way more you can do with it. I only used Lync for basic communications, but I use Slack for everything from communications and reminders to channel discussions and sending files. I also love the way you can incorporate GIFs and memes to add a sense of humor to chats.

Likelihood to Recommend

Slack is great for small- to mid-sized companies looking to communicate more effectively. It's probably not well suited for larger corporations or anywhere with a more formalized way of communicating. While there's an app for phones, it's probably not ideal for environments where a computer isn't used on a regular basis.
