Overall Satisfaction with Slack

Slack was great for chatting and sharing ideas, brainstorming, and even used as a casual channel for talking to my team while having stored records of valuable content for later reference. You might use it for "behind the scenes" discussion, but there might be something inspired, and it lets you go back and find it again. Working remote was a necessity with the company's dymanic, since our clients were literally all over the state of Florida, our team was spread all over the US, yet Slack made it feel like they were sitting next to me.
  • Personalization of visuals (colors, patterns, dark scheme)
  • Multiple channel creation for individual or team chats
  • Dual function of web based and app based for flexibility
  • Connectivity across app to desktop for continued conversations
  • You can't get it if you don't know it exists (need more visibility)
  • More integration for presentations or adding attachments
  • Easier access to customer support?
  • ease of access (app or website)
  • easy to use
  • can have high storage for checking waaaaay back into chat history without taking my space in my personal device's storage
  • not a direct impact
  • more organization that revenue generating
  • easier communication has indirect positive influence
Besides Slack, I have tried using Skype and WhatsApp Business for chat platforms, but they aren't as intuitive or natural feeling to use, and they don't feel like they belong in the business setting. Skype feels old school, and though the video feature is always readily available, it's not the best thing to have if you accidentally initiate a video call. WhatsApp Business is okay, but I prefer Slack.

Do you think Slack delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Slack's feature set?

Yes

Did Slack live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Slack go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Slack again?

Yes

In the case where everyone wants to work remote (either pandemic or gas savings), having a formal platform for communication of interdepartmental, in your own team or individually, Slack would be a lot better than WhatsApp or regular messenger, because it would be a neutral application that everyone can access. Perhaps if everyone already has good channels of communication, then a chat based platform can disconnect people or discourage face to face comm's.
