Overall Satisfaction with Slack

We use Slack to communicate internally with our team, which is very helpful for our remote employees who we would not be in such close contact with if we didn't have Slack. It ties to our calendars so we can see who is in a meeting or not, which is also helpful!
  • I like that it has icons so you can quickly know who's busy (in a meeting) or working from home just by looking at the emoji.
  • It also has a feature to integrate gifs into the workspace which I think adds a fun way to communicate with others!
  • Lastly, its ease of use is great! It's very easy to learn and integrate into our everyday use at the office.
  • I do wish Slack made it easier to see your DM's. They added a feature that moves them around based on who is active, but if you're trying to find a thread with a teammate who isn't active on Slack at that moment, it's a lot harder to find.
  • I also think they could integrate with AI more and have apps for AI.
  • Lastly, it would be awesome if it would tell you when a coworker was last active. It would be nice to keep track of when people are logging off.
  • The ability to create new channels when we need them so that we can add places to discuss certain topics.
  • The huddle feature is used often. It's much easier to use than Google Meet for in-house meetings.
  • The icons that show whether a team mate is available or not is also super useful.
  • When looking at whether to invest in Slack vs. Microsoft Teams, I always recommend Slack. Slack's interface is a lot easier to learn and is more user-friendly.
  • I would recommend Slack, no matter the price tag, the ease of communication and making announcements for our team is priceless. From little things to "there's pizza in the break room!" to important updates for the whole team, it truly makes communication very easy and frequent.
  • If you have a lot of team members who are remote, Slack is invaluable. It's more personal and lighthearted than emailing and quicker.
Microsoft Teams got very confusing for me with all of the tabs and different things to learn how to use it. I felt that Slack has a much cleaner look and makes it easy for anyone to learn how to use.

I also like how it integrates seamlessly into our Google/mac workspace!

Do you think Slack delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Slack's feature set?

Yes

Did Slack live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Slack go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Slack again?

Yes

I think Slack works really well in office settings, or even for any group of people who need an easy way to communicate with each other through organized channels.

It may not be the best for those who intend to use it as a social media type app, it is more geared towards business use.
