Overall Satisfaction with Slack
Through Slack my organization is able to silo important discussions and reach solutions to both internal and customer-related questions. Slack easily integrates with Google which is important for sharing and housing documents. Slack also allows the team to communicate via video chat which is useful for quick huddles and large ideas that are tough to convey through messages.
Pros
- Organizing chats between individuals and groups
- Linking to Google for document sharing
- Video calls
Cons
- Customizing the desktop view
- Keys like enter/shift are different in the slack text box
- AI summarizing for vacation messages would be nice
- Streamlines specific conversations about internal issues/customer items
- File sharing integrates seamlessly with email/document sharing
- Saves time by removing the need for lengthy emails between coworkers
Slack is far superior to other interoffice communications I have used. It has more features for messaging like the ability to include emojis or react to messages. You can also edit and share messages between conversations. I'm not sure how other platforms have evolved but I imagine they follow slack's lead.
