Smartsheet was brought in to serve as a lightweight project and task management tool. Specific emphasis was placed on a simple to use and intuitive interface that would not require significant training. It was deployed across a large agile program as the main program management tool. It was easy for business and technical users to understand and begin using as it felt so similar to Excel.
- Easy to use. It is a very intuitive natural interface for business and technical users.
- Dashboards were relatively easy to create and use.
- SaaS model allowed easy but secure access across geographically disparate resources.
- Workspaces feature was rarely used for comments or sharing.
- Report builder took some getting used to.
- Pay by user as you go minimizes up front costs.
- Opportunity cost savings to avoid more expensive solutions.
- Worked well with other software that the team was comfortable with - enhanced productivity.
[Smartsheet is] Much easier to use. Does not have as robust PM features as MS-Project but covers the basics of what is needed.
