Overall Satisfaction with Smartsheet

Smartsheet is a dream for project management. It makes it easy to stay on top of multiple competing priorities and work collaboratively with a team. It also makes it easy to analyze your productivity and work patterns after the fact with robust reporting functions.

Pros

  • Visualizes projects.
  • Notifies users of changes to the sheet.
  • Alerts users to pending deadlines.

Cons

  • Reporting could be a little more intuitive.
  • A few more colors for color-coding would be helpful.
  • Moving a row to another sheet should automatically include attachments, comments, etc.
  • Increases satisfaction among senior leadership who want confidence in the work being accomplished.
  • Makes it easier to identify "pain points" across many projects.
  • Increases productivity because your team always knows where they are and what they should be working on.
It's generally great, but the UI may not be intuitive for everyone. Thankfully, they also provide many forms of training, from documentation to videos and a user community. The answers are always out there!
I tried Miro for a while and it just didn't have the features Smartsheet does. If I'm going to pay for a "supercharged Excel," I expect to really do a ton more than Excel!

If a team is working on a large number of projects with defined stages and competing deadlines, Smartsheet is ideal for keeping everyone on track and informed. It could be seen as "overpowered" if you're just working on stuff on your own.
