Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop

It is currently being utilized by our billing department to work remotely, securely.

Pros

  • Multi-user access. I can grant and control which devices my team can have access to from one screen.
  • Hi performance. No lag from any device. I especially like the multi-monitor support. I work with multiple monitors and this feature is indispensable to working efficiently.
  • Multi-device access. I can easily access my remote desktop from both my laptop and Android device.

Cons

  • I am supposed to be able to reboot my computer remotely. However I have experienced some issues with not being able to reconnect after a reboot.
  • There seem to be some issues caused with the new Windows update. They were resolved by uninstalling the update and relaunching Splashtop.
  • There was an issue with a blurry screen once after updating, but Splashtop support was able to resolve it after contacting them.
  • I don't have any hard numbers to provide, but I can say that productivity has increased. Remote work adds at least an hour a day which our team can be working where before they were commuting.
  • From a recruiting point, we are more attractive to potential candidates when we can offer hybrid positions.
  • Access from anywhere can cut down on the amount of time resolving issues takes, that before would have required someone to travel on site.
We haven't had many issues to address, but when we do the support has been quick. We usually chose the chat feature to contact support first. It helps that they can remote in and perform any necessary tasks without us needing to be present. We can move on and perform other tasks while we wait for the support specialist to work on resolving our issue.
I am confident when I connect to my remote device through Splashtop that my data is secure. The two factor authentication helps keep users who shouldn't have access out. The encryption eases my worry that even if an unauthorized person gained access they wouldn't be able to use the files they acquire.
We were able to gain access within a couple of hours. We completed everything through the step by step self installation. We didn't have any issues getting everyone working, and didn't need any help from Splashtop support. The self install guide was very user friendly, and even the non-tech savey people had an easy time with the install.

We have a department which is hybrid. Splashtop is well suited for this type of work schedule. It allows us to access our work desktop wherever our team may be and pick up where we left off. The remote print features and file sharing abilities make it easy for any remote workers to work with on site team members. Session recording has also allowed us to make short video tutorials for our team when explaining how to complete certain tasks. The Splashtop antivirus also helps provide peace of mind that we are secured in our remote work.
