Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop

Splashtop is being utilized in the service department to address our customer concerns with remote assistance first and then if needed onsite service. We are a machine sales company of printers and it helps address the network side of issues for a customer. Examples are setting up a new PC to be able to print or connection problems for current equipment.

Pros

  • Secure connection to remote machine only when Authorized by user.
  • Easy to understand connection application.
  • File transfer in application helps to have setup files available when needed.

Cons

  • If I have 2 monitors and so does end user, be able to have dual monitor support.
  • Desktop icon for end users to easily find application to give remote access code.
  • This tool has allowed for saving on our travel cost as well as onsite cost the customer would incur.
  • The yearly subscription works well for our small organization since we are not a full time remote group of users. This allows for a only a small number of customers who need billed to cover the cost.
For all the times I have used Splashtop it has been the requirements of both our organization as well as the needs of the customer. In terms of the customer security it requires authorization by the end user the creates ease of mind that there is not access being given freely to remote access.
The time impact has been minimal. The user experience is easy to understand and being able to implement the actions needed help to reduce down time and help users feel more comfortable that they can be successful using the Splashtop application.
Yes - Splashtop replaced the Microsoft application Team Viewer. Not only was their application more expensive but it also had more user needs then what Splashtop has needed.

I have used a few different tools in the past and this has been a great tool to assist in my work load. The handy features in security and connections settings have helped set user minds at ease. There are always room for improvement, but it has met my needs so far. The ease of use for new users to the application makes it a time saver without having to spend extra time explaining how to use it.
