Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop Enterprise

As a media production educator I need a powerful desktop computer to run my video production programs. Part of my job involves travel to meet our virtual students and when the pandemic hit I was finding it difficult to get all my work done on my laptop. I simply needed my desktop computer. I tried several other remote desktop applications, but none of them allowed me actually use the video production programs on my work computer. Then I found Splashtop and it changed everything. With Splashtop, I was able to securely access my work computer from my personal laptop or from any of the other offices I have to use when I am traveling to different school locations. I was able to edit videos with ease and didn't have to worry about where all my files were stored or not having the same processing power when I was on the road. Splashtop turned an inexpensive laptop into a high-end media production machine.
  • Security - There are multiple logins for the program so it keeps anyone from accidentally logging into my machine if they are using a shared remote computer.
  • Connection - Video editing is precise and requires the video and audio to sync and with Splashtop, I've never had any sort of connection lag and I've been able to work almost as fast as I would if I were sitting at my desk.
  • Portability - The app for Android is amazing. I am able to have a full PC desktop experience on my tablet without losing any functionality.
  • I use multiple monitors at my desktop and while I can switch my view, it would be nice to have some sort of dual monitor view as a display setting within the app.
  • I've been able to travel to other school sites to meet with students even when I have projects that I have to work on at my desk without losing any productivity. Before Splashtop a meeting with students at a different building might mean pushing pause on all my other work, now I can remote into my desktop in between those meetings and not lose valuable time when I have to be away from my office.
  • This has also been incredibly helpful during the pandemic. When work-from-home orders come in, or when I've had to quarantine, I don't always get a lot of notice. However, with Splashtop, I can do everything I need at home without sacrificing quality.
I've never had a major issue that I needed a person to intervene. That being said, the information provided with the setup and installation of the program was so perfectly clear I didn't need extra help. Any issue I've ever had has been able to be resolved with Splashtop's already published help information.
The security of Splashtop is fantastic. I've tried the windows-based screen/desktop sharing, Chrome's remote desktop and a couple of others, but nothing was able to handle the programs I was running. The other programs were also just on or off. With Splashtop I was able to set up multiple passwords so I am able to log into my machine even if I'm using a shared computer at home. There is no way my kids can accidentally get into my work computer without me knowing about it. I've never felt unsecure using this program.
Downloading and installing Splashtop was a breeze. The instructions were simple to understand and it was easy to setup. Within a few minutes I had it on my computer and a couple of minutes later I had the app on my tablet and smartphone testing. It was honestly easier to set up and see success than using the built-in remote desktop features on my Windows machine.

Splashtop is perfect if you're looking for a reliable way to remote into your desktop computer without breaking the bank. The starting plans are incredibly affordable and allow you to perform complicated, RAM-heavy applications remotely. If you're just looking for a way to edit documents or access a file or two you might be able to get away with a free service or using cloud backups, but if you have some applications that run well only on specific machines you need something that can handle the traffic and that is what this program does well.
