Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop Enterprise

Splashtop Enterprise was originally intended to be used to remotely manage and access certain key legacy in-house solutions which were not yet migrated or transitioned over to cloud-based solutions or alternatives. While there were plans to eventually migrate or transition over to cloud-based solutions, the pandemic resulted in an urgent need to find a way to make these key legacy in-house solutions accessible remotely.
  • Simple and easy deployment
  • Minimum impact to system performance
  • Extremely stable and reliable
  • Ability to transfer files between host and remote computer
  • Cross-platform capable makes it easy to work between PC & Mac
  • Sporadic disconnects even when there's no issues with Internet connection
  • File transfer from host/remote (or vice-versa) periodically crashes
  • Optimal screen resolution is often too small to read
  • Remote access to in-house systems from anywhere which would otherwise only be accessible in-house
  • Remote access solution that balances performance with affordability to help business stay within budget
  • Remote access helped to keep core business functions operating during the pandemic
This is not applicable. During the time for which I used Splashtop Enterprise remote access solution, there was never a situation where I experienced an issue that required the assistance of Splashtop Enterprise support. Generally speaking, Splashtop Enterprise is usually on the ball when it comes to notifying customers of any impact to the service by providing status updates for outages or potential service disruptions.
It's hard to give a fair assessment of security outside of what Splashtop Enterprise specifically states on their website and in their documentation without looking behind the curtain and seeing the actual implementation. That said, I believe Splashtop Enterprise takes their business seriously and takes the necessary steps to protect and secure access to their solutions, customer information, and devices that utilize Splashtop Enterprise's remote access solutions.
Getting Splashtop Enterprise up and running was relatively quick and easy. That said, I do have experience working with other remote access solutions which gave me a certain advantage. However, with any solution, there's always a slight learning curve as you need to review, in detail, all the settings and configurations to make sure the solution works as intended and as desired. Even for someone without previous experience, Splashtop Enterprise is still a quick and easy setup.

Splashtop Enterprise should work relatively well for most use cases. Pricing is affordable making it appealing to small businesses and the impact on system performance is minimal versus some of the competitors. Setup and deployment are fairly simple which work well for anyone needing a reliable remote access solution without having access to an IT professional to assist with setup and deployment.

Evaluating Splashtop Enterprise and Competitors

  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
The most important factor in deciding to go with Splashtop Enterprise was ensuring a balance between price and performance. I didn't want to go with a solution simply because it was the least expensive and end up with a solution that didn't work well or at all. I've used competitor solutions in the past and could've gone with any of those solutions as I know they work; however, the costs were simply outside the range of the budget. I needed a solution that worked as well as the competitors but came in at a price point more affordable and in line with the budget.
I wouldn't change the evaluation and selection process. I think the process was meticulously executed even though there was a limited amount of time to review and make a decision. A major advantage for me is the fact that I've used competitor products/solutions in the past and already had first-hand experience with those products/solutions. With that experience, I knew exactly what I wanted but needed to find a product/solution which fit the build (balance of performance and price).
