Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I did the full trial period of Sprout Social while helping my company find social media management options. It was for use by the marketing department to handle a large volume of local-level social media pages.

Pros and Cons

GREAT stats/metrics reporting.
Easy social scheduling.
Convenient social listening tool built in.
Can handle many pages and mediums with ease and simplicity.

It would be nice if it were a company subscription rather than priced per user.

Return on Investment

We ended up not using it long term because our use case involved too many users needing platform access for it to be cost effective.

Alternatives Considered

Hootsuite

I've used Hootsuite, which does not offer half as much functionality as Sprout Social, however it was more cost effective for my company's primary social channels and provided the base functionality I needed for automatically posting Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest content.

I also have used Soci, which is what my company used for managing the MANY local-level Facebook accounts that we had people running. It did not offer as much functionality and reporting as Sprout Social, but it was far more affordable because they charged based on how many pages were connected rather than how many active users were in the platform and it worked for our social scheduling and corporate post-approval needs.

It is a very well laid out and intuitive platform. It has a lot of options and supported platforms and I enjoyed using it.

Likelihood to Recommend

Sprout Social is a wonderful platform for companies or agencies looking to manage multiple social media pages and platforms at once. It is fantastic at providing detailed post and page statistics in an easily readable fashion - it makes providing reports to superiors simple! The social listening tool is very convenient for finding spaces where you can join in the conversation. It is best used by an organization where only a few users are in the platform. If you have hundreds of local pages all run by different individuals, it can get incredibly expensive due to the charge per user for the platform.

Amazing platform if you have the budget!
