Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer

Used mainly by IT Support to log into a users laptop/desktop remotely as a tool to assist with troubleshooting any issues that have been raised. Allows for potential quick diagnosis/check of a user's machine before it is required to be physically brought into the office. In these challenging times with Covid-19, this isn't always that simple.
  • Small download file and therefore can be installed quickly.
  • The user interface is pretty straightforward, just a case of providing the random code to the support person and they can then begin.
  • For those not familiar with the software it may feel like a potentially unsafe application given that it appears standalone (difficult not to), but, as it's not part of the desktop, it may create a potential false impression.
  • Difficult to quantify as this product has been used only when I have needed a support agent to remote access my laptop.
  • I would be surprised if this product didn't at least reduce the need for laptops to be brought into the office or collected and couriered back and forth at additional cost to the business.
Basic screen sharing and desktop control via Skype for Business has been used in the past and for the most part, does achieve the desired result. In addition, as the helpdesk operator is already speaking to you over Skype voice and instant messaging, it means the wider capabilities of TeamViewer (audio/video) are seldomly used which is a shame.

Do you think TeamViewer delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with TeamViewer's feature set?

Yes

Did TeamViewer live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of TeamViewer go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy TeamViewer again?

No

Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
For initial desktop triage of issues, it's very good but in our case, I believe it's used too infrequently or in conjunction with collaboration software where screen sharing is being used and/or voice calling. As a consequence of this, the potential of the product is somewhat lost/overlooked.
